OnSide Victoria is pleased to announce the 2011/2012 Board members:
 
Danny Busija – Chairperson (new appointment)
Vince Manno – Secretary

Public Officer – Leslie Burrows
Regular Members – Patrizia Torelli, Stefanie De Poi, Naomi Hirst and Terry Anne Thomas.
 
South Sudanese Australian Interstate Basketball Tournament
 
The tournament was first held here in Melbourne in 2008 at the keysborough Basketball stadium with 12 male teams and 2 females teams competing and over 100 people spectating. 2009/10 the tournament was held in sydney and has attracted 24 - 30 teams participating respectively in the event over the weekend. This season coming up.
 

My Story

My name is Tahira Razaee and am currently studying the Diploma in Community Development (CD). We migrated from Afghanistan to Australia in 2007.
It’s everyone’s dream to become someone well known or special one day and I am one of those dreamers. But I don’t only dream but work hard to achieve my goals as well.

You Can Do It - Connecting Youth

OnSide Victoria has developed and managed a series of art programs in Dandenong High School in the City of Greater Dandenong.
Our aim is to have positive engagement of young people in a fun, positive and socially harmonious manner. Giving youth an opportunity to develop new skills or re-establish their interest. Assist in breaking down any perceived barriers between the local community and police and build on already established community networks in the region.

OnSide Victoria’s Chair Patrizia Torelli has been working closely with the Women of the MCC to raise funds for the Skills Through Sport- Education & Leadership for Newly Arrived Mothers program. read more

Connecting Youth Service 2011


OnSide Victoria acts as a driving force for the provision of a variety of social and community engagement opportunities for culturally and linguistically diverse and socially disadvantaged young men and women.

In 2010, OnSide Victoria piloted the ‘Connecting Youth Service’ Forum in the City of Greater Dandenong. As a result of this ‘pilot’ onSide has identified a gap in the delivery of networking and partnership opportunities. read more


Game On 2011


OnSide Victoria joined the City of Greater Dandenong (CGD) as it launched into GameOn 2010, an initiative showcasing a variety of activities directly associated with the values of the Department of Immigration and Citizenship Diverse Australia Program Harmony Day on 21 March 2010.

Sports COPPS has Great Success in Gippsland


Gippsland School children of all ages got to ‘play’ against Victorian Sporting Champions when OnSide Victoria in partnership with Victoria Police Soccer Club brought ‘Sports COPPS’ to the Gippsland region. read more
